We have used plenty of content management systems at BizStream. We've also used plenty of systems that had no business being called a content management system, but were being used as one. Then about a year ago we came across a system that just seemed to work as advertised. It was easy to use, easy to customize, and powerful enough to handle the largest websites that we were working with. That system was Kentico CMS.
The reason we decided to focus on Kentico was the different levels of customization and extensibility it offers. It allows us to rapidly create unique functionality for our clients to meet their exact needs. For instance we were able to add in custom Web Parts that could talk to the Kentico API with little to no code, bring up content related to the current page automatically, as well as use inline controls that allowed the site’s content editors to add rich forms and page content with the click of the button. These customizations would take much longer to create with other content management systems.
As time went on we created bigger and better customizations for our core clients. And as we became more comfortable with the system we used it on new projects that came in the door. It quickly became evident that as we used the system it was insanely smart and powerful CMS solution. With features like custom Document Types and Transformations, we realized the potential was almost limitless on what could be done with Kentico.
