March 29, 2017 – Allendale, MI – National Association for Business Resources (NABR)
has honored BizStream, a software company specializing in web design, development, and custom software, as one of West Michigan’s Best and Brightest Companies to Work For®
. This competition identifies and honors companies that deliver exceptional human resource practices and an impressive commitment to their employees. This is the second consecutive year BizStream has received this honor
During the selection process, the nominated companies complete an in-depth 56 question application. Once submitted, organizations are assessed based on categories such as company finances, communication, work-life balance, employee education, diversity, recognition, retention and more. The Best and Brightest team then identifies their strengths and opportunities in a thorough evaluation.
Simultaneously, employees of the nominated company are sent a confidential employee survey that gauges how the staff feels about pay, benefits, company culture, work-life balance, and personal advancement opportunities. These results are analyzed by a third-party research firm, and the nominees are ranked based on a combined score of the aforementioned application and employee survey.
When asked about what this award meant to him, Founder Mark Schmidt
This award conveys what my business partner and I have strived for since the start of BizStream, over 15 years ago now. We knew going into this that we wanted to create a place where people want to be, and a place where our team members feel valued, and where we make an effort to reward their hard work.
Web Developer Chris Hamm
I wanted to work at BizStream the first time I walked in the door because the personality and culture are fantastic and permeate every part of the building. I’ve stayed because the team seems to naturally adopt each person into a second family, and I love that. Everyone here is willing to do whatever it takes for each other, our clients, and our families to make sure BizStream is more than just a place to work.
There is no magic formula to BizStream,
said Project Manager Josh Rubino
The owners are very clear in their intentions to not only serve the community but serve each other. We have a rare and unique culture that invests in the educational, technical and emotional cornerstones that define every member of this family. At BizStream, you are an invaluable team member, not just a number. We work hard. We play hard.
BizStream is an amazing place to be a developer,
Alli Treman said.
We're constantly learning new technologies and skills from each other, and have a generous work-from-home policy.
The Grand Rapids Business Journal
