Who We Are
We’re a small team of individuals who are passionate about the web and technologies surrounding the web. We believe it’s our duty to make the web a better place by using our talents to help businesses of all kinds. Located west of Grand Rapids in the small town of Allendale, MI.
How It All Started
In 2000, BizStream formed as an intranet development firm (under the former name of Schmidt Technologies) and began designing a highly customized intranet portal for a large multinational corporation. By late 2001, the first BizStream portal system was fully deployed. In 2003, we expanded our services to include all aspects of streamlining your business.
Our Leaders
Mark Schmidt - Founder / Senior Developer
Mark Schmidt is passionate about building and maintaining a team of highly skilled people that love what they do and enjoy doing it every day of the year. He strongly believes that having people like this on the team provide unmeasurable benefits to BizStream and our clients. He has a crazy love for web tech, data, coffee and music (the more obscure the better). Mark is always looking forward to the future and what technology trends might help him, his clients or anyone else he knows. In his down time, he loves spending time with his wife and (soon to be) 3 daughters.
Brian McKeiver - Partner / Senior Developer
Brian McKeiver looks like he is about 16 yrs old, but BizStream assures you we're not breaking any child labor laws by having Brian a part of our team. In fact, Brian has over 12 years of experience that he brings to the team. Outside of his excitement for software platforms and technologies that can help solve real world problems, Brian can be found hanging out with his wife, chasing around his three children or vigorously rooting for the Michigan State Spartans and Detroit Lions.
Tom Hughes - Advisor
Tom Hughes is the senior advisor, business coach and cheerleader of the team. He brings years of hands-on business and sales expertise to BizStream. Tom's experience co-founding, growing and managing a $7 million dollar technology company is an especially valuable asset. When not working on business and sales strategies, you will most likely find Tom training for one of his endurance competitions.

Cory Vanden Bout - Senior Web Developer
Cory Vanden Bout plays a key role in product development and product support here at BizStream. When Cory isn't developing at BizStream, you can find him winning championships in local dodgeball and kickball leagues.
Sterling Heibeck - Senior Web Developer
Sterling Heibeck has been slinging code since 1995. His role at BizStream is not only about raising the median age of the group, but he brings a multitude of talent to the table when it comes to architecture, design, development, and all around awesomeness. To Sterling, development is 95% problem solving and 5% Google. The answer is always yes when asked the question of "Can we do [insert anything here]?"
Adam Reece - Senior Web Designer
You could say Adam Reece is the eye candy of BizStream... as long as we're talking about the web. Driven by beautiful design and elegant code, Adam brings a wealth of knowledge and experience when it comes to designing and developing for the web.
Albert Hovingh - Web Developer
A graduate of Grand Valley State University's Computer Science department, Albert is following his passion for creating web applications at the professional level. Don't let his calm demeanor fool you though. He is a shark when it comes to foosball and anything XBox-related.
Anthony Everitt - Web Developer
Anthony Everitt not only works his tail off here at BizStream, but he is also a student at Ferris State University, where he is studying to get a Software Engineering degree. In his free time, you can see him out on the Links or in front of his computer playing a RPG.
Bonny Schmidt - Accountant
Bonny Schmidt is the queen of checks and balances at BizStream, literally. Bonny also keeps BizStream in order in more ways than just finances. When Bonny isn't at BizStream, she is spending her time with her husband and two adorable daughters, Addison and Mya.
Cody Rose - Web Developer
Cody has a Bachelor of Science degree in Geography which is an interesting background for a software developer! Cody brings a unique perspective to the craft of software development and, as it turns out, he’s really good at this stuff. When not working on the latest code, Cody may be found playing disc golf, Starcraft 2 or looking for his lost bike.
Ron Merrihew - Account Manager
Ron Merrihew is the account manager at BizStream. He brings years of sales experience in many different areas and he loves the tech world. Ron is all about "good business" and takes great pride in making sure the customer is completely satisfied and happy in their dealings with BizStream. When Ron isn't talking to customers, or to himself, you'll probably find him with his soon to be wife, out on the golf course, or exercising.
Brian Latta - Web Developer
Brian is a former math whiz who now spends his time building responsive sites for the new web. He loves clean code that looks good on any screen. Plenty of Yerba Mate and drum and bass keep him going.
Wally BizStream - AI Automated Support & Project Mgmt. System
Wally has been around almost as long as BizStream and is a stellar example of both our “Innovative Thinking” and our “Whatever it Takes” attitude. Wally logs and monitors support requests and integrates with our project management software. Wally provides ongoing audio notification of and reminders for pending support requests. It’s impossible to miss or forget a support request or project milestone with Wally around. And, just for fun, Wally has been modified to taunt us after a Foosball game and chide us to keep our time sheets current. Thanks, Wally. You keep us on our toes.
