Coe Lacy grew up in Northern Michigan and is a 4th-generation marketer—something he never planned to carry on but has found fulfillment in nonetheless. With a strong background in the arts, he initially attended Western Michigan University for music performance before switching majors and graduating with a degree in Broadcast Production and Journalism.
He moved to Grand Rapids to continue making connections within the West Michigan music scene. In an effort to support his music projects, he taught himself website design and front-end development, which also rekindled a childhood passion for drawing. These skills led to a position at a growing web agency, where he spent 17 years progressing through various roles and ultimately became Creative Director. Coe enjoys getting to know each client and how their business works, digging to uncover the narratives that connect them to their customers in meaningful ways.
Outside of work, Coe continues to pursue art and music. In recent years, he has been mentored by world-class figurative artists and has also taught drawing classes. His wife works in landscape design, and together they enjoy spending time outdoors and traveling with their daughter—whether on long road trips across the country or quick getaways to the family cabin in the UP. They’re dog people and love their staffies.
