Quality Assurance Specialist

BizStream is looking for a Quality Assurance Specialist who is passionate about delivering exceptional digital experiences and helping teams build software with confidence. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys understanding how websites and web applications work, identifying opportunities for improvement, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality solutions.

As a Quality Assurance Specialist, you’ll work closely with developers, designers, project managers, business analysts, digital strategists, and clients to ensure websites and web applications function as intended and provide an exceptional user experience. You’ll help identify quality concerns early in the development process, communicate findings clearly, and advocate for solutions that improve both the product and the development process.

Responsibilities

Plan and execute testing throughout the software development lifecycle for websites and web applications.
Develop and maintain test plans, test cases, testing documentation, and release validation procedures.
Perform functional, regression, exploratory, user acceptance, cross-browser, responsive, and accessibility testing across multiple browsers, devices, operating systems, and screen sizes.
Identify, document, prioritize, and clearly communicate defects through detailed, actionable bug reports.
Validate bug fixes and ensure production-ready releases meet project requirements and quality expectations.
Collaborate closely with developers, designers, project managers, business analysts, digital strategists, and clients throughout each project.
Participate in Agile ceremonies, including sprint planning, backlog refinement, retrospectives, and quality reviews.
Advocate for the end-user experience by identifying usability concerns and recommending improvements.
Use AI-powered tools to accelerate test case creation, triage automated test failures, summarize crawler and regression results, and improve testing workflows while applying critical thinking and human judgment to validate results.
Identify opportunities to improve QA processes, expand automation, and increase overall team efficiency.

Core Skills

3+ years of experience testing websites, web applications, or other digital products.
Experience using AI-powered tools to accelerate software testing, generate or refine test cases, assist with documentation, and improve QA workflows.
Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality work.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Experience working in an Agile software development environment.
Ability to effectively prioritize work while balancing multiple projects, competing priorities, and deadlines in a fast-paced agency environment.
Basic understanding of HTML and CSS, along with experience using browser developer tools to inspect and troubleshoot front-end issues.
Experience with automated testing frameworks such as Playwright, Cypress, Selenium, or a willingness to learn modern test automation practices.
Familiarity with WCAG 2.2 AA accessibility standards and experience testing against them.
Working knowledge of JavaScript or TypeScript to support test automation, debugging, or scripting.
Experience writing clear, detailed, and actionable bug reports.
Strong self-management skills, including the ability to take ownership of work, prioritize tasks, and move initiatives forward.
Comfortable critically evaluating AI-generated output for accuracy, completeness, and potential risks.
Curiosity, adaptability, and a continuous improvement mindset with a passion for improving software quality and user experience.

Bonus Skills

Experience working in an Agency / Consulting setting.
Experience working with a Content Management System (Kentico, Kontent.ai, Storyblok, WordPress, or similar).
Experience with visual regression testing tools.
Experience testing APIs and third-party integrations using Postman, Playwright API testing, or similar tools.
Familiarity with SEO best practices as they relate to website quality and user experience.
